Julia's First Day of School

I have to be honest . . . I used to make fun of Mom's going on and on about crying on their child's first day of Kindergarten. I would think to myself, it is just school seriously get a grip. I now realize how wrong I was. My day started with Julia informing me that she does not want to wear a bow, she decided big girls don't wear bows. Why does she want to hurt me?
I pulled myself together, did some quick magic on her hair and convinced her a flower was very grown up.

Kissing hand! Anytime she misses me today she can look at the heart on her hand.

Quick stop to see Grandma before we head to class.

I love this picture! Daddy and his girl.

We made this awesome key chain at the Kindergarten kick off party at school. Such a great reminder for her to carry with her everyday.

Starting to get a little nervous.

Putting on a happy face before Mommy and Daddy leave.

When it was time for us to go she started to cry, which made me tear up . . . OKAY, cry. Geeezzzz, I became one of those Moms. Thank goodness for my spy (Grandma) who text me updates when she passed her in the hall and that they school day ended at 11:45 a.m.
She was happy when I picked her up and had a great day!

Meet the Teacher

Tonight we headed to Bear Creek to meet Julia's Kindergarten teacher. We did not know what to expect so we left Andrew with Grandpa, packed up her school supplies and went to learn how to be elementary school parents and an elementary school kid. After checking our Julia's name on the class list and waiting for the doors to open we headed to the Kindergarten hall. We filled out a bunch of paperwork and Julia put away her school supplies. After a quick meet and greet with Mrs. Prichard we officially had a kindergarten student. Oh boy!

Woo-Hoo Julia is in Mrs. Prichard's class.

Found my desk!

Mrs. Prichard and Julia

4 Months

Andrew you are 4 months old today!
You are wearing Size 2 diapers and 3-6 months clothes.
You weigh 14 lbs and 2 ounces.
This month you went to a food park, finished your summer time with Grandma and spent a whole week with Daddy while Mommy was at work. You spent your first night away from Mommy when I had to go out of town for work. Mommy was really stressed out, but you had a blast with Daddy. You started day care and are still getting used to your teachers and new schedule.
You are an overachiever and already have 2 teeth! You are still an awesome sleeper and are starting to get attached to your pacifier.
You are a happy, happy baby!

Andrew's First Day of School

Today was Andrew's first day at day care. I was so lucky to go back to work a month ago and have my Mom take care of Andrew until school started. He is such an easy going baby that I know he will do great. I just worry about him taking good naps.

One last snuggle with Mommy before we leave the house.

Loaded in the car ready to go.

Are you really going to leave me here?

We were so lucky that we got to see Valerie on her way to her first day of school.

Happy boy, ready for Mommy and Daddy to head to work.

Sharing with your brother

On any given day the playroom looks like this . . . just keepin it real people!

Here is how Andrew plays in the playroom.

It is hard for a 5 year old when she realizes she will have to share her playroom with her brother.

Me: "You know Julia when Andrew gets big enough to play you are going to have to share your playroom."

Julia: "NOOOO, we will just put his toys in his room and he can play."

Me: "No we will make room for him in the playroom."

Julia: "But Mommy he has a room, there is not room for a boy toy box in the playroom, it is a girls room."

She proceeds to go get a pad and pencil and asks me how to write . . . No Boys Allowed.

Oh boy, at least I have several more months to get her prepared to share her playroom.

What do you do when it is a million degrees outside?

When it is too hot to play outside on a Friday night, we go enjoy an free activity at Bass Pro Shops. Julia loves to look around, see the fish and explore the boats. Jeff and I are currently drooling over pontoon boats. We are thinking about buying one next summer. It was a fun evening.
