The Practice Cake

Valerie's first birthday is right around the corner. Renee wants to keep with the Butts tradition of homemade cakes. She asked me to teach her about decorating the Strawberry Shortcake cake. My Mom taught me this cake technique when I was in middle school. I was so excited Renee asked me to help. Renee is very artistic and has a very steady hand. The cake is going to turn out great. We did not have all the right colors yesterday. Our practice cake was very "artistic"!
Renee hard at work.

Kristin was on Valerie Duty. Lucky!

Lauren was on Julia Duty!

The finished "practice" cake. The organge hair is a nice touch, don't you think?

Then we had cake!

Rangers Game and Third Day

On Saturday Jeff and I went to the Faith Concert Series at the Rangers Game. I organized for our connection class to go, we had 30 people attend. Before the game we attended the Third Day concert. It was amazing. The weather was perfect, behind the stage was a beautiful lake and the music was awesome. It reminded me lot of church camp in Glen Rose. Singing outside by the lake was always my favorite part. The worship that Third Day led was very different than a camp counselor with a guitar. I love live music!

What an awesome example of worship!

Julia's 3rd Birthday

Bad blogger! Bad blogger!

So within the past 2 days I was scolded by my Mom and friends at bible study for not updating my blog enough. I promise I will get better. To make up for it I will post some adorable pictures we took this weekend of Julia and Valerie. Do you forgive me now?

What does a monkey eat?

Tomorrow is banana snack day at school. Julia and I made banana treats for all of her friends. We made a big mess and had big fun.

Bozo Julia

At school a couple of weeks ago it was dress like a clown day. Julia was one of the only kids in her class who dressed up. She was adorable.
