Andrew's First Solid Food

Andrew is 5 months old and it is time to start solid food. He is still having a hard time sitting up in the high chair so I have put this off for a while. But it is time! He was not too thrilled with the whole process but he will catch on.

3 Day Weekend

Three day weekends are the best! One extra day to pack in as much fun and family time as possible. Julia had Monday off for Columbus day, so Jeff and I took off too. The weekend started with a quick photo opportunity at the pumpkin patch. It was FREEZING outside but really cloudy, perfect conditions for some quick photos.

On Sunday Jeff took Julia to the Air Show. She had a fun time. She was more interested in climbing in the planes and helicopters than she was watching the show. They ran into Lily and Cooper while they were there.

Then to finish out the weekend we went to the Zoo. It was Andrew's first trip. We showed him all the animals, but he like being outside best of all. It was a nice cool day and all the animals were active especially the elephants.

5 Months Old

Andrew you are 5 months old today!
You are still wearing Size 2 diapers and 3-6 months clothes.
You weigh 14 lbs and 14 ounces.
You are really starting to react and play with us. You smile, hold toys, put your pacifer in your mouth by yourself and make sweet baby sounds all the time. You are an easy baby and go with the flow. Your teachers at day care say if they had a room full of "Andrews" they would be board all day.
This month you went to your first birthday party, school dance and had your first ear infection.
You are really into Daddy right now, if he walks into a room or is talking you are straining your neck to find where he is. You smile every time you see him.
Julia is smitten with you and will "babysit" you when we leave the room. She is able to wipe your mouth, give you a pacifier and clam you when you are crying.
You have started rolling over all the time. I will put you on a blanket in the middle of the room and come back to find you rolling all the way to the other side.
You are getting stronger and will lay in your belly and lift your head and shoulders off the ground.
Today you found your feet, you laid on your back and held onto them all day. You are trying so hard to put them in your mouth.

School Dance

We took Julia to her first school dance tonight. The PTA at our elementary school is amazing, the have a full calendar of events just for the kids. All 4 of us headed to the dance. The dance was a crazy mess of kids, parents, loud Kids Bop music and tons of kids jumping up and down to the music.

The theme was cowboy so we did our best to dress the theme.

Julia and her friend from church, Ainsley.

At the end of the night she told me her feet hurt. I told her that's how you know it was a good party when your feet hurt at the end.

Accessories

One thing I miss about having a baby girl is the accessories. Every time I get Andrew dressed I feel like I am missing something . . . oh yeah a bow. Well since I am raising a boy I will refrain, but look what I found, A HAT! Not just any hat and super sweet golf cap that reminds me of my Grandpa B. So adorable.

Julia's First Day of School

I have to be honest . . . I used to make fun of Mom's going on and on about crying on their child's first day of Kindergarten. I would think to myself, it is just school seriously get a grip. I now realize how wrong I was. My day started with Julia informing me that she does not want to wear a bow, she decided big girls don't wear bows. Why does she want to hurt me?
I pulled myself together, did some quick magic on her hair and convinced her a flower was very grown up.

Kissing hand! Anytime she misses me today she can look at the heart on her hand.

Quick stop to see Grandma before we head to class.

I love this picture! Daddy and his girl.

We made this awesome key chain at the Kindergarten kick off party at school. Such a great reminder for her to carry with her everyday.

Starting to get a little nervous.

Putting on a happy face before Mommy and Daddy leave.

When it was time for us to go she started to cry, which made me tear up . . . OKAY, cry. Geeezzzz, I became one of those Moms. Thank goodness for my spy (Grandma) who text me updates when she passed her in the hall and that they school day ended at 11:45 a.m.
She was happy when I picked her up and had a great day!
